GTR - Powerboat

The GTR is a 6.8 metre (22.3 ft) ski race boat built with a lightweight layup for serious performance. It is constructed using a full vinyl ester resin layup, vacuum bagged and foam composite. This build delivers strength, durability and reduced weight for maximum speed and handling.

Ventilator 2 - Powerboat

The Ventilator 2 is a 6.0 metre (19.7 ft) design that combines lightweight construction with proven race pedigree. It is built with a full vinyl ester resin layup, vacuum bagged and foam composite. The result is stiffness, control and reduced overall weight.

With a lightweight layup of full vinyl ester resin, vacuum bagged and foam composite, it offers a strong yet responsive build. The VF2 delivers consistent performance and control, making it a reliable choice for competitive racing or high-level recreational runs.

Every Labsport boat is built for performance, using full vinyl ester resin and foam composite layups that are vacuum bagged. This method increases strength and reduces weight, giving each hull greater durability and control on the water.

Shannon Gray has been part of the Australian ski racing scene since 1985, starting out on the water as a skier at Wisemans Ferry in Sydney. As a second-generation ski racer, he grew up on skis before moving into boat driving, and in recent years racing with his wife Lisa as observer and their kids, Alissa and Jake, competing as skiers.

In 1987 Shannon built his first boat ‘Shades Of Gray’ with his father, Kelvin Gray. What started as a family project soon became a lifelong passion, and he now refines every build with an emphasis on performance, strength and reliability.

Now based in Ballina, NSW, Shannon works alongside his son Jake and fellow ski racer Campbell Taylor. Together they continue the family tradition, building boats that carry forward the heritage of ski racing while embracing innovation and precision.
